Feminine Touch Fabrics - 2009 Jacket Challenge
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - Jacket Challenge deadline has been extended to close of business 5 February, 2010.
In honor of our joining the national Fine Fabric Stores network of independent fashion fabric retailers, here’s a fabulous chance to show your sewing skill or design talent. Make a jacket and submit it for judging in the Feminine Touch Fabrics – 2009 Jacket Challenge!
You can either use any commercial jacket pattern or you can design your own jacket. You can enter the challenge by yourself or with one teammate. You can make a men’s, women’s or children’s jacket. For fun, we are also having a local Doll’s or Pet jacket challenge.
Eligibility requirements:
· Complete and submit an entry form at the store
· Principle fabric must purchased at Feminine Touch Fabrics between Sept and December 2009
· You must complete and deliver your jacket to Feminine Touch Fabrics for judging by close of business 9th of January, 2010.
Prizes
· Best men’s, women’s or child jacket - 1st Prize a $100 store gift certificate and the opportunity for your jacket to represent Feminine Touch Fabrics and New York State in the FineFabricStores.com - National Jacket Challenge.
· Best men’s, women’s or child jacket - 2nd Prize a $75 store gift certificate
· Best men’s, women’s or child jacket - 3rd Prize a $50 store gift certificate
· Best Doll Jacket - a $25 store gift certificate
· Best Pet Jacket - a $25 store gift certificate
· Best Jacket using a KwikSew Pattern – a Free KwikSew Pattern
· Best Jacket using a Folkwear Pattern – a Free Folkwear Pattern
· Best Use of Trim - $20 worth of Trim
· Customer’s Choice Jacket - $30 store gift certificate

Feminine Touch Fabrics – Jacket Challenge 2009
Official Rules
1: Patterns: The Jacket can be of a personal design, or any commercial pattern can be used. If a commercial pattern is used the company and number must be declared when your jacket is submitted for judging.
2: Fabric: The principle fabric used in the jacket entry must be purchased at Feminine Touch Fabrics between September 2009 and January 2010. A proof of purchase required. (receipt or swatch)
3: Participants: The Jacket entry can be submitted by one participant or a two person team. In regards to teams: if one person designs and another constructs the Jacket entry, the designer and the constructor must be declared when the Jacket is submitted for judging.
4: Challenge Categories:
· Human: Men’s, Women’s & Children’s
· Non-Human: Doll’s and Pets
5: Award Categories:
· Human: Eligible for all Award Categories
· Non-Human: Eligible for all Award Categories except National Jacket Challenge
6: Promotions:
· The participant(s) agree to be photographed, video interviewed and press interviewed for promotional purposes.
· All participants agree to allow their entry to be displayed at Feminine Touch Fabrics and other regional and national promotional venues.
7: Prizes:
· The Feminine Touch Fabrics – Jacket Challenge, prizes and their value will be determined by the store’s management.
· Feminine Touch Fabrics is not responsible for prizes associated with any follow-up challenges.
8: Submission for Judging: Jacket must be submitted with completed entry form NOT LATER THAN close of store business, 4:00pm Saturday 9 January 2010.
9: Judging: Decisions of the Judges will be final.
10: Exclusions: No Employee of Dragon Lady Media, Feminine Touch Fabrics or its promotional partners may participate in the challenge.
